Lorna Marcele Raven

Lorna Marcele Raven, (Aunt Mar) 95 of Webster City, went home to God on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Southfield Wellness Community, in Webster City. A funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Webster City, IA. The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) to care for their needs. Lorna was born on December 29, 1926, in Ames, Iowa to Loren and Lois (Hager) Deming. She attended school in Ames until the age of 13, and then graduated from the Colo High School in 1944. She received a Bachelor of Science at the University of Iowa and a Master of Science from University of Indiana. She was Assistant Professor of Adult Medical Surgical Nursing at both the University of Iowa and the University of Cincinnati. Lorna married Einar Raven, the love of her life, on April 30, 1965, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She was a member of the Hospice Board, and Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City. She enjoyed volunteering and reading in her spare time. She was a master at both playing cards and the word game Scrabble. Although prim and proper there was nothing Lorna liked more than a good joke, especially one of Einar’s. Lorna’s family includes her sister Betty Jean Kirkwood, several nieces and nephews and many great and great-great niece and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brothers: Charles and William; and sisters: Esther Ober and Barbara Deming. Lorna will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Despite many health challenges in the last years, Lorna continued to help anyone she could and never gave up hope that we would all be together again with God. I have many Wonderful memories of Lorna. One of the best ones was when Michelle and I took a bus down to Cincinnati Ohio and spent a week with Einar and Lorna. She was a very special lady and my favorite aunt.
