Obituary
Rev. Dr. Jerry D. Jarrell, age 82, of 875 Third District Road, Unadilla, succumbed to kidney cancer on Thursday, April 14, 2022.
Born in Cochran, he was the son of the late Wiley Mobley Jarrell and Martha Lucile Purser Jarrell. He attended Cochran High School and then joined the United States Navy. After honorable service in the Navy, he spent nine years in law enforcement with the Macon Police patrol and traffic division and the Bibb County Sheriff's Department. God called Jerry into the Christian ministry and he attended and graduated from Georgia College, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Luther Rice Seminary. For 52 years, he pastored churches in Georgia and North Carolina. Due to health reasons, he had to leave the pastorate but continued serving churches throughout Middle Georgia as interim pastor. He also served as adjunct professor of religion at Brewton Parker College for 7 years.

He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Wiley Joe Jarrell and Shirley.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, April 18 in Friendship Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends 5-7 PM Saturday, April 16 at the funeral home.
