Mr. Gene Autry “Bobby” Selby entered eternal rest on April 13, 2022 at the Brookdale Assisted Living Center in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.  He was born in Engelhard, North Carolina to the late Marshall Lee Chance and the late Lucinda Davenport Selby.

Celebration of Life Services will be Saturday, April 23, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, Elizabeth City, North Carolina with the Rev. Antonio Williams, Pastor/Eulogist.  Interment will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Swan Quarter, North Carolina.  A public viewing/visitation will be 1 hour prior to services on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church.  Masks are still required for all services. 

Gene leaves to cherish his memories one son, Reggie (Brandi) Selby, Breigslville, Pennsylvania; one brother, Adrian (Chaka) Davenport, Kileen, Texas; two aunts, Rebecca Bryant, Engelhard, North Carolina and Flonia Davenport, Virginia Beach, Virginia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, Zina Alexander and Melvin Tatem.
