Mary Ann (Scullane) Calawa, 73, a lifelong resident of Pepperell, left us after suffering a heart attack at home. After being transported to Nashoba Valley Medical Center, she was pronounced dead on April 12, 2022.
Mary was a graduate of North Middlesex High School, the Valedictorian of the Class of 1966, and a graduate of Clark University. She was a devout Catholic attending St. Joseph Church and a lover of animals. She was a member of ASPCA for over 60 years. A proud supporter of the Democratic Party, she worked on elections during her time here on Earth and always said she would support them in the hereafter.
The daughter of John and Marjorie Scullane, she leaves behind her husband Alan, brother John, sister Katie, her dog son Vincent, and her monthly lunch group that was her love and spiritual support. Thank you all.
As she said to others, we now say to her: "May you be half an hour in Heaven before the devil knows you're dead".
