Doug Amundson, age 79, of Erskine, MN and Fosston, MN, passed away on Wednesday, April 13th, at Essentia Health Living Center in Fosston. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21st, at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine with the Rev. Michael Sletto officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Erskine, at a later date. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Douglas Otto Amundson was born on July 7, 1942, in Fosston, MN, to Otto and Olga (Wickstrom) Amundson. He was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine. He attended college in Thief River Falls, Minnesota for mechanics, Bottineau, North Dakota for Forestry, and Mayville State with a Major in Business and Minor in Social Sciences.

Doug worked as a Librarian at Mayville State, student taught high school in Sharon, North Dakota, and worked with several farmers through the years. He enjoyed working for the railroad and operating heavy machinery until retirement. Doug was a lifelong resident of Erskine and Grace Lutheran Church.

Doug loved socializing, live music, being in the country on the farmland, and enjoyed animals.

Doug is survived by sister-in-law Sally Amundson of Erskine, MN, nieces, Jill (Rod) Myran, Elle, Devin of Victoria, MN; Kimberly (Patrick) Harrigan, Hollee, Adam, Brady of Hudson, WI; Cassie (Dave) Senn, Seth, Morgan, Bella, Malaina, Karl of Erskine, MN; Sandy Amundson of Bagley, MN; aunt, Viola Wickstrom of South Milwaukee, WI; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Darlene Barron, and brother, Lowell Amundson.
