Karl M Brandt Obituary

Karl Marion Brandt, 73, passed away on April 13, 2022. He was born on April 20, 1948 to Bernhardt and Mildred Brandt in Primghar, IA. He was the youngest of five children and loved helping his dad around the farm. Growing up in northwest Iowa, Karl graduated from Aurelia High School in 1966. In 1968 he proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country for six years of active duty. After his service in the Air Force he settled in Lincoln, Nebraska where he spent the next 30 years of his life working and raising his daughters. Much of this time was dedicated to attending and assisting with their sporting events and extracurricular activities. Karl retired from Goodyear in 2004, and moved back to Northwest Iowa and started his own business, Brandt Electric. In 2014 he was excited to officially retire and later moved to Arizona. Music was always an important part of his life, a true passion. Since junior-high he was a member in several bands over the years and appreciated the growth and experience he gained from each one. One of his favorite aspects of retiring to Arizona was playing in a band and participating in a number of weekly “jams” throughout the area.

“You get one trip around the race track of life. Make the most of it and when you reach the 4th corner….DON’T RUN FOR THE FINISH LINE…..slow down and smell the roses”. -Karl Brandt

In honor of Karl’s creative and spontaneous approach to life, Free Spirit roses are included in the flower arrangements for the service.
