Virginia Sideri

<p>Virginia M. Sideri, of Uniontown, Ohio passed away with family by her side on April 6, 2022. Born in Elyria, Ohio to the late Frank and Mary Petrowsky on April 10, 1928.<br /> She was a devout Roman Catholic and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Virginia served in multiple community organizations including The Sons of Italy, The Salvation Army, and Women&#39;s International. In 2004, The Sons of Italy honored her with the Silletti Award for her outstanding contributions. Virginia was a volunteer at her church, Nativity of The Lord Jesus Catholic Church, where she enjoyed making meatballs and pasta for their annual spaghetti dinner and helping with Vacation Bible School in the summer. Virginia loved gardening at her home, trying her luck at the slot machines and Italian cooking. In her early twenty&#39;s she sang for a band in San Fransisco. She was very musically talented and passed the love of music to a couple of her grandchildren.<br /> Mostly, Virginia enjoyed spending time with her family. &quot;Nini&quot; as she was affectionately known by her six grandchildren, devoted the last three decades to them. She influenced their lives greatly and her impact will be felt for generations to come. She will be remembered for her feisty wit, loving spirit, and faithfulness to God. She always made sure to leave every place she went better than she found it and we believe that she left this world brighter too.<br /> Virginia is survived by her three children, Rebecca Scott, Dennis Sideri (Charlotte), Toni Sideri, six grandchildren Lauren Scott, Alexis Haupt (James), Callie Suder, Tayor Bond (Cole), Connor Sideri (Laura), Courtney Gower (Brandon) and four great-grandchildren; Emma, Olivia, Kailynn, and Crew.<br /> Friends and family are invited to her memorial Mass and Celebration of life gathering Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Nativity of The Lord Jesus Catholic Church (2425 Myersville Rd. Akron, OH 4431). Mass will be held at 11:30 am followed by a celebration lunch.</p>
