On the evening of April 10th, Mother Betty Harvey earned her heavenly wings to reside in eternity forever with the Almighty God and transitioned from labor to reward at 94 years of age. Mother Betty Harvey graced the world with her presence on September 6, 1927, to the late Walter, and Bertha Cruse in Tampa Florida. She was the youngest of 5 siblings.

Mother Betty Harvey received her formal education in the Florida Public School System. After High School, she furthered her education while attending the Sulfa Springs School of Business in Tampa Florida. Mother Betty Harvey confessed her hope and belief in Christ at an early age under the Pastoral Leadership of the late Rev. T.J. James of Mt. Tabor Church located in Tamp Florida.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. James A. Harvey on July 31, 1959. They relocated to St. Louis, Missouri, and joined Friendship MBC under the Pastoral leadership of the late Rev. C.J. Hawkins. Mother Harvey was a faithful member of the Choir for a number of years. Later the Family moved their Church membership to the Mt. Gideon MBC and remained faithful members for 35 years. Mother Harvey served in the Choir, Sunday School Teacher, Baptist Training Union Leader, Deaconess, and the Mothers Board. In 1999 Deacon, and Mother Betty Harvey joined the Friendly Temple under the Pastoral Leadership of the Rev. Michael F. Jones, Sr. She faithfully served on the Mothers Board until she was called from labor to eternal rest in Christ Jesus.

Because of her quest to make a difference, she is known by Mother, Mommie, and Momma throughout the Community. Young people where ever she went cherished her because of her love for them.

Mother Harvey is preceded in death by her husband, James, and her son Walter. Mother Harvey leaves to cherish her memories to her children, Michael, (Gwen) Bernice, James Edward, Louise, (Frank), and Bridgett, (Stan) 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, special nieces Ruthie Barnes, and Mary McAtee. Special god-children Derick & Flo Joiner, Sharon, Irene, and Bishop Michael & Phyllis Jones. Our Kindred Grice Family, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
