Debra Georgiann FontaineBrookfield-Debra Georgiann Fontaine, 63, passed away peacefully with the love and support of her family, at St. Luke's Home on Saturday, December 19, 2020, following a lengthy illness. She was born on July 14, 1957, in Herkimer, the daughter of George and Mildred Becker Armstrong. As a young child, Debra traveled extensively between New York and Florida. On August 26, 1976, at the Brookfield First Baptist Church Parsonage, she married William C. Fontaine. She was a stay-at-home mom who enjoyed caring for her husband and children. In later years, she made her grandchildren the "the center" of her world. Debra would always be the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She would help others at times, when she and her family would go without. Debra enjoyed sewing and making crafts. She was always baking cookies and pies, many times to give to others. She will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.Debra is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, William (Bill); her children: Heather (Anthony) Nitti, William Fontaine Jr. and Kayla (Bob) DeCarr Jr.; her beloved and cherished grandchildren: Anthony Nitti II, Jennah Nitti, Isabella Nitti, Leah DeCarr, Blake Kelley and Jacob DeCarr; her brothers and sisters: Cathy (Kelly) Pritchard, David (Diane) Armstrong, Vonnie (Kenny) Baker, Sherry Strickland, Vivian (Wayne) King, Darlene Williams, Diane (Tom) Gilbert; her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ann Armstrong, Kathy Sadler, Stanley (Janice) Fontaine, Jr., and David Crossman. Debra is also survived by her aunt Leona Cook and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Jennifer Lynne Fontaine, her parents George and Mildred Becker Armstrong, her father-in-law and mothers-in-law: Stanley (Alberta) Fontaine and Yvonne Fontaine; her brother George Armstrong, Jr.; her sisters Susan Crossman, Margaret Wildey and Jean Wildey; her brothers-in-law Darrell Strickland, Jerry Wildey and John Wildey.Debra's special friends/caretakers, Debbie Smith and Christine Green, stood by her side and provided her with so much love, support and compassion during times when her family could not be there. They became a part of her family and she loved them unconditionally. Her family will forever be grateful to the both of them. There will be a visitation to be held on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the Paul Funeral Home of Brookfield from 1 PM until 2 PM. Due to the current Covid-19 Crisis, facial masks must be worn, social distancing must be maintained and adjusted total capacity must be followed.
