Richard Leon McCain Obituary

Richard Leon McCain was born November 21, 1941, to Alice P. Baker McCain and Jimmie McCain of Broken Bow, Oklahoma. He was the oldest of three children. He went home to be with the Lord on April 10, 2022 at age 80.

Leon was a born-again Christian. He received Jesus as his Savior on April 16, 2017 at the age of 75.
He leaves at home his cherished wife of 47 years, Brenda McCain. Leon served in the Marine USMCR, October 24, 1966 to September 15, 1972 as a Corporal (E-4). He worked in the motor pool. He was honorably discharged. Leon was what you call a Jack-of-all-trades. He could pretty much do anything he set his mind to do. He built two homes, built furniture, did welding, woodworking, upholstery, auto mechanic work, etc. We were blessed to have him in our lives.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; sister, Doris Ann McCoy; granddaughter, Alyssa Cook Darnell; mother-in-law, Willa Prater; brothers-in-law, Gary Tomek and Arvil McCoy; and sister-in-law, Margret Ellen McCain.

He is also survived by his sons, Royce Lee McCain and Richard Leon McCain, Jr. (Lonnie) & wife Bridgette of Layton, Utah; Lonnie's girls, Megan and Brad Michie of Moroni, Utah, Rachel and Kaden Barnum of Clearfield, Utah and Courtney and Triston Yocom of Layton, Utah; Bridgette's girls are Brianna Jackson of Layton, Utah, Chloe and McKay Karlson of Longmont, Colorado and Kyleigh Moulton of Layton, Utah; two great-granddaughters, Bristol and Brylee Michie; two step great-granddaughters, Presley and Olive Karlson; father-in-law, Henry Prater; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Chris Wood; sister-in-law, Sharon Tomek; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Ann McCain; along with nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.

Services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Lukfata Baptist Church with Pastor Chip Pinkerton officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Top Cemetery in Broken Bow, Oklahoma with services entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
