<p>Anna Mae (Otto) Swartz, completed her Earthly journey at Pennknoll Village on April 10, 2022, where she was cared for by the incredible Family Hospice staff and the compassionate personnel of Pennknoll Village!&nbsp;</p> <p>Born in 1927, in Osterburg, PA, &nbsp;Anna Mae was the third child of the late Parson David Otto, Mildred Marie (Whitnack) Otto, and Stepfather, Harry Bruce Otto.&nbsp; She was preceded in death by brothers, Paul and Parson D Otto Jr.</p> <p>In 1945, Anna Mae married William Albert Swartz.&nbsp; They are survived by 3 children; Karen (Swartz) Bender, wife of Edward Bender of Dagsboro, DE; Thomas Swartz and wife, Cheryl of Carlisle PA and Stephen Swartz and wife, Sharon of Everett PA.&nbsp; Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and their families:&nbsp; Dustin Swartz and wife, Kristi of Gaithersburg Md, Jason Swartz and wife, Melissa of Carlisle PA, Amanda Swartz Meek of Carlisle, Derrick Bender and wife, Lee of Flemington NJ, Kimberly Bender Noll and husband Joseph of Southampton PA, Adrienne Swartz of Everett PA, and Nathan Swartz and wife, Stasha of Frederick MD.&nbsp; &lsquo;Grandma Annie&rsquo; was blessed with 13 great grandchildren;&nbsp; Brady &amp; Rachel Swartz,&nbsp; Hunter, Aiden and Carson Swartz, Morgan Meek, Dylan, Molly and Makenzie Bender, Teagan and Trey Noll, Adriana Smith, &nbsp;Kayana Swartz, and friend Austin Carson.&nbsp; 2 months ago, she was blessed with a great-great-great granddaughter, Emersyn Carson.</p> <p>She was a loving Mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great - great grandmother, friend, cousin and Christian.</p> <p>Anna Mae worked for GC Murphy Company and was an Insurance Agent for The Baltimore Life Insurance Co.&nbsp; She was a member of the Everett United Methodist Church, where she volunteered at the churches Lentin lunches and yard sales.&nbsp; She was known for her carrot cake which was a favorite request of many.&nbsp; She was a member of the Methodist Women and Board of Trustees.&nbsp; She also volunteered at LOVE Inc and UPMC.&nbsp;</p> <p>Anna Mae was a true &lsquo;Everett Warrior!&rsquo;&nbsp; She was an avid Steelers, Nittany Lions football and NASCAR fan, cheering for Dale Earnhart JR.&nbsp; She loved watching birds and feeding black squirrels from her back porch with her late friend, Norman Smith.&nbsp; She treasured her family gatherings.&nbsp;</p> <p>A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.&nbsp; Condolences can be sent to www.akersfuneralhome.com.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Anna Mae&rsquo;s memory to Family Hospice &ndash; UPMC, 20 Sheraton Drive, Altoona PA 16601 or LOVE Inc., 80 State Street, Everett PA 15537.</p> <p>Arrangements by Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537.</p>
