Gary Dean Evins Obituary

The good lord called Gary Dean Evins home April 8, 2022.  Gary was born May 4, 1953, to Dean and Dee Evins in Eureka, Montana. Gary graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1971.   He married the love of his life, Becky Dierman, on May 26, 1972.  They were blessed with three beautiful children Gabe Evins (Susanna Evins), Kacey White (Andy White) and Jessie Blake (Andy Blake).  One of his greatest blessings is his seven grandchildren, Taylor Josephson, Wyatt Josephson, Haylie Hall, Tiger Evins, Raven Evins, Danial Lemer, and Grizzly Dean Evins.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Delores Evins; his younger brother Steve Evins; son-in-law Andy White; and best friend Little Mike Holder.  He is survived by his sister Cherie Moncrief (Kimo Moncrief); brother Randy Evins (Beckie Evins); brother-in-law’s Dennis Dierman (Marilyn), Sam Dierman (Savannah), Frank Dierman (Barbara); sister-in-law Kate Dierman; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Gary was a true cowboy through and through.  He was the horse whisperer.  There wasn’t a horse he found that he thought he couldn’t break.  Not always the case, but he gave it one hell of an effort.  He loved everything to do with raising horses. Gary and Becky raised paint quarter horses for many years. His idea of a romantic day was going for a ride in the mountains on the horses, and having a hotdog over the campfire. Gary loved team roping off his beloved horse Tez.  His motto to his kids was always, “rub some dirt on it, you’ll be fine”.

Gary loved the outdoors.  He loved to hunt, especially when the time was spent with his family.  He loved to tell stories of his many adventures.  Anyone who knew Gary, knew he had some great stories to tell.  He loved playing cornhole.  The last game he played, he beat his son, which was a huge highlight in Gary’s world.  The best thing in the world for Gary was spending time with his family and friends, laughing and joking.
