<p>Gard, Jean Edith</p> <p>August 16, 1933 &ndash; April 8, 2022</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Jean Edith Gard (nee Loney), daughter of William and Margaret of Edmonton and sister to Betty (deceased).&nbsp; Loving wife of William Gard (deceased), and mother to Heather and Bruce (Sharon), and grandmother to Julia.<br /> &nbsp;Jean was born in Windsor, spent summers in the Metcalfe/Kenmore area, and completed her nursing degree at the Royal Victoria in Montreal.<br /> She returned to nursing after raising<br /> her children, working at the Glebe centre in Ottawa and then as nurse at a family practice&nbsp; for many years.<br /> A long time member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Ottawa, Jean served as an elder and sang in the choir for several decades. She was well known for her generous nature and was involved in many charitable activities including making dolls for children in Afghanistan.<br /> Jean liked nothing more than spending time with her family both in Ottawa and at the family cottage.<br /> Friends and family are invited to a memorial visitation on Wednesday April 13 at Tubman Funeral Home Westboro Chapel (403 Richmond Road, Ottawa) from 6pm-8pm.&nbsp;A private burial will be held in the family plot at Spring Hill Cemetery</p> <p>She will be dearly missed by her family and friends</p>

Gard, Jean Edith

August 16, 1933 – April 8, 2022

 

Jean Edith Gard (nee Loney), daughter of William and Margaret of Edmonton and sister to Betty (deceased).  Loving wife of William Gard (deceased), and mother to Heather and Bruce (Sharon), and grandmother to Julia.
 Jean was born in Windsor, spent summers in the Metcalfe/Kenmore area, and completed her nursing degree at the Royal Victoria in Montreal.
She returned to nursing after raising
her children, working at the Glebe centre in Ottawa and then as nurse at a family practice  for many years.
A long time member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Ottawa, Jean served as an elder and sang in the choir for several decades. She was well known for her generous nature and was involved in many charitable activities including making dolls for children in Afghanistan.
Jean liked nothing more than spending time with her family both in Ottawa and at the family cottage.
