Marilyn Marie Riley

Marilyn P. Riley, 91, of Middletown passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Middletown Nursing and Rehab Center in Middletown.  She was born on November 26, 1930, a daughter of the late Howard and Edith V. (Pence) Pullin.

Marilyn was a 1948 graduate of Middletown High School.  She also attended Ball State University.  After surviving polio in 1953, Marilyn worked for a local insurance agency.  She ran the Middletown License Branch for several years, then 28 years later she retired from Ameriana Bank formerly known as Henry County Savings and Loan.

Marilyn was a member of Cross Roads Lutheran Church until it closed in 2001, she then became a member of the Sixth Street Christian Church, where she crocheted over 200 lap throws.  She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Marilyn is survived by her 2 daughters, Ginny (Bob) Hess and Cindy (Bob) Fox; a grandson, Brandon (Brittany) Fox; a granddaughter, Shea (Greg) Buck; 3 great grandchildren, Elijah, Preston and Quinn Fox; a cousin, Jill (Rod) Graham which she spent several winters in Florida with, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Calvin “Shorty” Riley.

Services will be at 2:00 pm, Wednesday April 13, 2022 at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown with Michelle Brown officiating.  Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Eastern Star services will be at 10:30 am.  Memorial contributions may be given to the Sixth Street Christian Church, 146 N. 6th Street, Middletown, IN 47356.
