Carl W. Manns, age 91 of Green Bay, passed away April 5, 2022, at The Jack & Engrid Meng Residence. He was born July 20, 1930, in Milwaukee. Son of the late Carl and Crystal (Wendt) Manns. He was a graduate of Green Bay West High School with the class of 1948. He then attended UW Madison where he received his bachelor’s degree and was also a member of the UW Marching Band. On July 14, 1960, Carl married the former Mary Newberg at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death April 15, 2018. He was the Senior Vice President of Mortgage Lending at First Financial Bank, Stevens Point. He was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Green Bay. Carl was a lifelong accomplished sailor and enjoyed sailing to many ports of the Great Lakes. He had a passion for listening to Big Band Music. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and loved all the family pets. In his later years Carl enjoyed playing tennis.
Carl is survived by one daughter and son in law: Susan (Gary) Gibson; one son and daughter in law: Mark (Sheila) Manns; five grandchildren: Kyle & Madison Gibson, Elizabeth, Michael and Mitchel Manns; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Charles (Diane) Newberg.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; and wife Mary Manns.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday April 13, 2022, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, Green Bay with Rev. Lori Swenson officiating the service. Visitation will be held at Lyndahl Funeral Home from 12:00 pm until the time of service at 1:00 pm.
