Leona Jean Golden Obituary

Leona Jean Golden (nee John Wesley Harvey), 42, of Lincoln, passed away April 4, 2022. She was born on October 26, 1979 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Donald Eugene Harvey and Marla Dawn (Mann) Kniewel. She grew up in Omaha NE and graduated from Millard West High School. She lived in Sidney NE, Columbus NE, and Lincoln NE during her adult life. Her son Talon was her pride and joy. Leona loved music, often writing and singing her own original songs. She shared many of her songs on social media. She enjoyed playing around with different eye shadow looks, always striving to look her best. She was a creative soul who wrote poetry and painted beautiful artwork, with landscapes as her favorite venue. She was active with the NA community and River City Gender Alliance. While she struggled with her own addictions and mental health, she was the first to encourage and support others. She was a member of the Blue Heron Lodge and followed the Red Road as part of her spiritual journey.

Leona is survived by her son, Talon; mother, Marla Kniewel (Roger); sisters Valari Loftus (Donnie), Shirley Shipley, brothers Christopher Kniewel (Jessica), Kevin Kniewel, stepmother Deb Harvey and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by father, Donald Harvey
