Wesley Anne Jordan Obituary

Wesley Anne Jordan of Vaughan, Mississippi, was born on March 20, 1946, to Ralph W. Shartle, Jr. and Annie Ruth Metcalf Shartle. Wes passed away peacefully on April 6, 2022, at UMMC. Wes was a graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a secondary degree from the University of Mississippi in Nursing. Wes is a retired cardiology nurse, having worked for 18 years prior to her retirement.

Wes, a resident of Vaughan, MS, has been married to Robert P. Jordan (Bob) for 48 years. Wes has worked with Bob in their real estate investment business for all those years, in addition to her nursing career.

Wes and Bob have been active members of Ellison United Methodist Church in Vaughan for 20 years. Wes is loved by all and will be missed in the community. She was a nurse to everyone and was so attentive and responsive to their needs. No matter when the call, she responded with compassion.

Wes was an energetic person and always had a peppy attitude. She loved her church family, her friends, and especially her family and extended family. Her hobbies and her life purpose centered around caring for others. She loved nature, reading, her beloved pets, and being around people. She loved antiques and pretty things and was quite sentimental.

Wes was preceded in death by her parents Ralph W. Shartle, Jr. and Annie Ruth Metcalf Shartle; sister Margaret Shartle White; and brother John D. Shartle. Survivors include her husband, Bob; and her brother Mark W. Shartle (Priscilla); and twenty-two nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Services will be Monday, April 11, at Ellison United Methodist Church in Vaughan, MS. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. with the memorial service following at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will also be at Breeland Funeral Home in Canton, MS on Sunday from 3:00-6:00 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Association, American Heart Association,  charity of your choice, or Ellison United Methodist Church.
