Shirley Johnson, age 86, of Wheaton, Minnesota passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton.

Funeral arrangements are pending.

Shirley Mae Johnson was born Oct. 19, 1935 in Hankinson, ND, the daughter of Emil and Anna (Neumann) Wallmann. She was the youngest of 8 children and graduated from the Hankinson High School.  

Leon J. Johnson and Shirley M. Wallmann were united in marriage on Oct.12, 1956. She and Leon lived and worked the family farm west of Wheaton and raised two sons, Terry (Joanne) Johnson of East Grand Forks MN and Jon (Connie) Johnson of Midland SD. 

Her favorite pass time with Leon was their weekly trips to the casino and playing cards with their many friends.  She always had a love for playing cards, bingo and making puzzles and had a wall full of them at the care center.

She is survived by her sons, six grandchildren, Jessica, Thomas, Trina, Wyatt, Avery and Noah, and four great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Leon, and all her brothers and sisters.
