Jim McCowen, III

Greensboro – Mr. James Clifford McCowen, III, 86, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at the Hospice Home at High Point.

Born April 4, 1936, in Delray Beach, FL, Jim was the son of the late James McCowen, Jr. and Alma Vissage McCowen. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Joyce McCowen Johnson. Jim grew up in Macon, GA, and was a graduate of the University of Georgia. He worked as a pharmacist at several pharmacies throughout the southeast, and was a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Greensboro.

Jim is survived by his wife of 60 years, Suzanne Lasch McCowen, of the home; son, James Clifford McCowen, IV and wife, Cristie, of Griffin, GA; daughters, Melissa McCowen Bell, of Franklin, and Deborah Lasek and husband, Leonard, of Oak Island; and two grandchildren, Alex Lasek and wife, Virginia, and Emily Lasek.

Services are private. Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point is serving the family.
