George Richard “Rick” Edmondson, a lifelong resident of Dillard, Georgia passed away unexpectedly on March 31st, 2022 at the age of 69.

 

Rick is survived by his wife, Joan; his son, John Edmondson IV; daughter, Kris Vinson; and brother, William Edmondson. He has two grandchildren whom he adored, Braxton Edmondson and Lindsey Vinson Hoyle.

 

Rick was born in Gainesville, Georgia on October 18, 1952. He graduated cum laude from Brenau University with a degree in Education and after graduation was a special educator for Rabun County High School for several years.

 

His knowledge for problem solving extended his career into various businesses and as IT director for Rabun Gap Nacoochee School he introduced the first computers, as well as orchestrating the computer network for the campus until he retired.

 

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was intelligent, honest, articulate, and a treasured friend to many. He enjoyed trout fishing and archery, along with boating on Lake Burton. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

 

A life celebration will be held at Beck Funeral Home on April 16, 2022 from 2-4 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association P.O. Box 96011
