Breda Schlimgen, age 85, was called to the Lord Monday morning after battling Alzheimers.

 

Breda was born and raised in Cork, Ireland and moved to England when she was 21.  She met the love of her life Edwin Schlimgen, who was stationed in England with the U.S. Air Force.  They travelled the world and raised two daughters, Siobhan and Senade.  Ed and Breda enjoyed a wonderful and challenging military career, developing life-long friendships as they traveled the world. Their assignments would take them to England, Michigan, California, Colorado, Turkey, Texas, and Korea ending up in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

 

Her passions included hospitality, knitting, walking and travelling the world.  Her Catholic faith was always at the center of her heart and she loved sharing her faith.  She never met a stranger and loved chatting – especially about Ireland.

 

Breda is predeceased by her husband Edwin.  Surviving her are daughters Siobhan (David) Edgington, Senade(Richard) Papalia; grandchildren Chandler Edgington, Connor (Annie) Edgington, Breanna (John) Dolciotto, and Shannon Papalia, Dominic Papalia (deceased); great-grandchildren Elijah and Leah Edgington.

 

The Schlimgen family would also like to express their most sincere gratitude to the entire team of Nashua Crossings who cared for her the last six months of her life.

 

 

SCHLIMGEN - Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., at St Joseph The Worker Church, 777 West Hollis St, Nashua, NH 03062. At 10:00 a.m. we will have a rosary in the church with an opportunity to pay respects.  We will be wearing green in honor of mom’s Irish heritage.  In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to any organization of your choice that helps the homeless.
