William S. Becker

<p>William S. Becker, age 64, passed away peacefully at home on April 4, 2022 surrounded by loved ones after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 21, 1957 in Harrisburg, PA and is survived by his loving parents, Clarence and Carol Becker. Bill grew up in Williamsport, PA eventually moving to his forever home in Twin Lakes Preserve, Shohola, PA. Bill made a successful career holding a variety of regional and corporate underwriting leadership positions, retiring recently as Vice President, Brokerage Underwriting for Selective Insurance after more than 40 years dedicated service.</p> <p>Bill was an avid outdoorsman traveling the world hiking, hunting and fishing. His other passion was music. Bill started playing guitar and bass guitar at a very young age. It brought Bill particular delight to play bass guitar with his father and his father&rsquo;s coterie. &nbsp;Bill was a gifted songwriter. He loved playing and singing with several local bands.</p> <p>Bill loved vacationing in Cape May and Antigua, trips to Long Island, spending time at his lake home, kayaking, canoeing, evening golf cart rides, morning walks and most of all spending time with his family. The simplest pleasures brought great joy to Bill. His legacy is his passion for life, words of wisdom and willingness to help everyone.</p> <p>Bill will forever be remembered by his beloved wife Kathleen Becker (nee Henrich); adoring stepdaughters Melissa Sweeney and her husband Dan; Kimberly Hansen and her husband Bobby. Beloved mother-in-law Rose Henrich. Loving sister Nancy Ellis and her husband Benny. Dear brother-in-law to Linda and Dayne Hill and Edward and Alina Henrich. Proud uncle to his niece Alexa Ellis, and nephews Blair Ellis, Zachary Henrich, Evan Henrich and James Henrich.&nbsp; Also survived by many uncles, aunts and cousins. Bill is predeceased by his cherished first wife Diann.</p> <p>A celebration of Bill&rsquo;s life will include a memorial visitation on April 11, 2022 from 2 pm &ndash; 5:00 pm, followed by a 5:00 PM memorial service at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main Street, Wharton, New Jersey. Interment will be held privately at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, New Jersey.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill&#39;s memory may be made to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, New Jersey 07860.</p>
