Elliott, 96, (nee Kenski) passed away on April 3, 2022 in the Cleveland Clinic-Avon Hospital at Richard E. Jacobs Campus.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;She was born on March 2, 1926 in Cleveland to the late Edmund and Clara (nee Mientkevich) Kenski.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Leona graduated from Notre Dame Academy and St. John&#39;s Hospital School of Nursing where she was enrolled in the U.S. Cadet Nursing Corps. She moved to Lorain in 1947. The same year, she began working at St. Joseph Hospital as a staff nurse and retired 40 years later as Nursing Supervisor.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Leona was a member of Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church and its Leah Circle.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;She was the former president of Cleveland Diocesan Catholic Nurses, founding member of the Nightingales, (retired RN&#39;s of the former St. Joseph Hospital). Lorain Community Seniors, a supporter of the Landing Crafts Supporters Museum, West Shore Orchid Society and the Mother Nature Preserve.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, raising orchids and stamp collecting.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;She is survived by her beloved son, Paul Urban of Lorain, step daughter Linda Hadfield of Avon Lake and Joyce Elliott (Bernard Baka) also of Avon Lake.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Dale Elliott.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Friends may call on Friday, April 8th, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. until services at 11:00 A.M. in the Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church, 3015 Meister Road, Lorain, 44053.                                                                    Leona "Lee" Elliott

     Leona R. Elliott, 96, (nee Kenski) passed away on April 3, 2022 in the Cleveland Clinic-Avon Hospital at Richard E. Jacobs Campus.

     She was born on March 2, 1926 in Cleveland to the late Edmund and Clara (nee Mientkevich) Kenski.

     Leona graduated from Notre Dame Academy and St. John's Hospital School of Nursing where she was enrolled in the U.S. Cadet Nursing Corps. She moved to Lorain in 1947. The same year, she began working at St. Joseph Hospital as a staff nurse and retired 40 years later as Nursing Supervisor.

     Leona was a member of Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church and its Leah Circle.

     She was the former president of Cleveland Diocesan Catholic Nurses, founding member of the Nightingales, (retired RN's of the former St. Joseph Hospital). Lorain Community Seniors, a supporter of the Landing Crafts Supporters Museum, West Shore Orchid Society and the Mother Nature Preserve.

     She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, raising orchids and stamp collecting.

     Friends may call on Friday, April 8th, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. until services at 11:00 A.M. in the Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church, 3015 Meister Road, Lorain, 44053. Pastor Jessica Schnegg will officiate.

     Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Amherst Township.
