Cherí A. Bergthold, 49, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022, at her home. She was born on February 3, 1973, in Fort Madison, IA to Francis & Gertrude “Gert” Kreps Bergthold. She was formerly a caregiver for ResCare and enjoyed boating & decorating the outside of her house. She was very artistic. Cherí is survived by: 1-daughter: Echo Bergthold of Fort Madison, IA; her father: Francis Bergthold of Montrose, IA; 1-sister: Tiffany Lewandowski of Colorado Springs, CO and 3-people whom she considered step sisters: Tara Akers, Dana LeMaster & Zana Holmes. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her mother. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022, at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Joseph Phung officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Sacred Heart Cemetery. A memorial has been established for her daughter’s education.
