Zelda Sue Vickers Zimmermann passed to Heaven on April 1, 2022, with her immediate family by her side. She was born on October 14, 1944, in Crockett and grew up in nearby Kennard, Texas. Sue was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter-in-law, and friend.
She earned her undergraduate degree at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. Representing Tri Delta Sorority, Sue was crowned Miss Georgetown and competed in the Miss Texas pageant in 1964. She went on to earn a Master’s Degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Sue was active at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and served as a Eucharist Minister.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford, and Cleo (Brannen) Bitner. She is survived by her loving husband, Owen Zimmermann, Jr.; sons, Tom (Shelly) Vickers, Steve (Liz, deceased) Vickers, and Andy (Anne Clark, fiancé) Vickers; stepchildren, Sean (Ashleigh Manjack) Zimmermann and Kelly (Mike Cortez) Zimmermann; brother, Joe (Noel) Bitner; nephews, Craig Bitner and Brad (Casey) Bitner; Sue loved and adored her grandchildren, they called her Zee Zee, Myles Vickers, Taylor Vickers, Ryder Vickers, "Little" Owen Zimmermann, Olivia Zimmermann, her beloved friends Barbara Peters, her Tri Delta sisters, and countless others she brought into her heart.
Our precious Sue will be missed by her adoring family, her beautiful friends, and all those whose lives she touched and upon whom she left her everlasting mark.
