Donald E. McCauley Obituary

Donald E. McCauley, 86, of Portage, Pa formerly of Altoona, died at 10:30 AM, Sunday, April, Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Maple Winds Personal Care Home, after an extended illness.

He was born in Altoona, Pa on January 20, 1936, son of the late Eugene M. and Sarah J. (Daugherty) McCauley.

He retired in 1998 as a Shipbuilder at General Dynamice Shipyard, Groton, Conn with 25 years of service.

He was a member of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament Altoona, Pa.

Don was a graduate of Altoona Catholic High School and attended Williamsport Trade School. He was proud of his lrish heritage and loved to share it with his family. He also enjoyed antiquing.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He is survived by 2 siblings Eugene McCauley, of Altoona, Pa and Sr. Mary Elizabeth McCauley, Sisters of Charity Seton Hill, Greensburg, Pa. Don is also survived by numerous niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by 3 siblings, Robert McCauley, Lillian Russler and Alice Ann Martynuska.

Services are private at the convenience of family at Jones Funeral Home, Altoona, Pa at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 8, 2022 with Msgr. Stanley B. Carson officiating.

Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery, Ashville.

There will be no public visitation.
