Harold Michael Wright

Harold Michael “Mike” Wright was born April 18, 1949, in Mexia, Texas to Bud & Margie Wright and moved to Humble, Texas at age 3. Graduating from Humble High School in 1967, Mike lettered in football, basketball, and tennis. He then went on to college and graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1971 and served at Delta Sigma Pi as fraternity president. After college graduation he held several coaching positions in Poteet, Texas. Upon returning to Humble, Texas he started working with Texaco Inc., was transferred to Texaco Chemical, and continued his career with Huntsman Inc. as MTBE Commercial Business Manager for a total of 40 years of service and has since been retired. <br><br>Mike loved sports – he played competitive softball for years, played tennis and golf, loved to fish, and enjoyed watching most all sports on TV. Mike loved to follow and talk politics. One of his favorite past-times were his daily naps where he would “rest his eyes for ten minutes”. He loved to eat at his approved restaurants and enjoyed a glass of bourbon on occasion. One of his favorite getaways was his acreage in Oakwood, Texas where he would mow grass, ride four-wheelers, build bonfires, and spend time with his family. <br><br>He is survived by his loving family – wife, Linda Wright; five children, Christy Wright, Keri Sullivan, David Wright and wife Jamie, Brittney Wright, Melissa Foster and husband Scott; ten grandchildren, Dylan Wright, Tanner Hill, Hannah Wright, Kailyn Hill, Paige Wright, Colt Wright, Keegan Wright, Case Foster, Cali Foster, and Crew Foster; his sisters Glenda Gunn, Angelia Lonergan and husband Ryan; nephews and nieces, Shane Gunn, Kevin Gunn, Chasity Holmes, Lauren Lonergan and Ryan Lonergan II; nephews Stacy Don Wright, Jody Wright, and niece Jami DeBorde. He is preceded in death by his parents Harold “Bud” Wright, Marjorie Wright, and former wife Nancy Turner Wright. Mike was greatly loved by many and will always be remembered in our hearts. <br>
