<p style="text-align: justify;">Richard C. Burnett, 77, of Hillsboro, IL passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 5:53 p.m., at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 9th, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at St. James Baptist Church in Hillsboro, IL. Rev. James Hayes, Pastor of St. James Baptist Church in Hillsboro, IL will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Mr. Burnett was born on March 18, 1945, in Sacramento, CA, to the late Merrell and Anna May (Cole) Burnett. He had worked at Consolidated Coal and as a handyman. He married Linda Boerckel, in 1985, in Hillsboro, IL and she preceded him in death. Mr. Burnett was a member of ABATE, UMWA and Hillsboro Moose Club. He was an animal lover, collector of odd things, loved to paint yard ornaments & gnomes and was an avid motorcycle rider.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Mr. Burnett is survived by two sons, Michael Burnett of Hillsboro, IL and Kyle Burnett of Taylorville, IL.
