<p>Sharon Hux Munroe of Morristown, Tennessee passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022, at The Heritage Center after a long struggle with dementia.&nbsp;</p> <p>Sharon was born to local grocer Wallace Hux and Marie McKinney Hux, on August 30, 1943. She was a graduate of Morristown Hamblen High School and Knoxville Business College. Most of her career was spent as an executive assistant for The City of Morristown. She served as Industrial Assistant for the Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce before returning to City Hall, where she retired in 2009.&nbsp;</p> <p>She was a member of First Baptist Church, Junior Reading Circle and Ladies Reading Circle, served on the homeowners board of Lyn Mar Downs, enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, spending time with friends, and being Mimi to her precious grandsons and their friends.&nbsp;</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her parents and younger sister, Janice Hux Martinez.&nbsp;</p> <p>She is survived by daughter and son in law Paige and Rus Mattocks, beloved grandsons Joshua, Owen and Braxton Mattocks, nieces and nephew Kimberly (Jordan, Taylor, Brody), Teresa (Ryan, Noah, Loten), and Benny Martinez (Iesha, Deagan, Sophie), cousins Corinne Hodges (Stephen, Valerie), Jan Susie Primas, and a host of beloved cousins and friends.&nbsp;</p> <p>A celebration of Sharon&rsquo;s life will be held Tuesday, April 5 at Allen Funeral Home with receiving of friends at 6:00 pm and a service to follow at 7:00. The family would like to extend special thanks and gratitude to the wonderful caretakers at Heritage Center, Dewitt Place, and Avalon Hospice, who loved and cared for her diligently. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the charity of one&rsquo;s choice.&nbsp;</p> <p>Allen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.</p>
