Roxbury Township: Mary Raymond passed away on March 29, 2022 at home with her family by her side, after a long fight with cancer. She was 70 years of age.
Mary was born in Scranton, PA before moving to Rockaway Township with her family as a child. Mary attended the Rockaway school systems, graduating from Morris Hills High School in 1969. Mary graduated from County College of Morris in 1972 and went on to pass the NJ State Boards to become a Registered Nurse. Mary was a 45 year resident of the Succasunna section of Roxbury Township.
Mary started her nursing career at the Morris View Nursing Home in Morris Township. While raising her young boys, she worked as a school nurse for the Dover School System before returning to Morris View Nursing Home for 21 years until she retired in 2016.
Mary and her late sister, Kathy traveled to Ireland to visit and explore their family past. Mary loved to sew, gardening and collecting many nick nacks for the house. Mary spent her retirement years working in her gardens and spending time with her family.
Predeceased by her parents, Frank J. Ruddy and Mary E. née Knight along with her sister, Kathleen LePore in April of 2018.
Mary is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Douglas "Doug" Raymond.
Two loving Sons: Terry and Mike.
Her cherished nephew: Bill LePore and his wife Sandy along with their twins; Justin and Olivia.
In passing, it was Mary's wishes to thank all of her dear friends and people that helped her through her long battle with Cancer.
A celebration of life event will be scheduled at a later date.
