Claude Clifford Holloway, 94, of Jasper, TN, died Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his family.
The son of the late Jerry Manuel and Lou Massengale Holloway, he was a graduate of Marion County High School and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, stationed in Kodiak, Alaska in 1942, then Dutch Harbor, Alaska and later serving aboard USS Greyhound.
Upon returning from the war, Mr. Holloway worked for TVA as Senior Hydro Operator, retiring in 1979 after 32 years of service.
He joined Jasper First Baptist Church in 1952, serving many years as a Deacon. He was also a life member of the VFW, and a member of the Local #721 IBEW.
He was also preceded in death by the mother of his children, Evelyn Carter.
He is survived by his children, Marty (Randy) White, Glenda (Pete) Brooks and Claudette Smith; nine grandchildren, Billie (Kurt) Ross, Bobbie (David) Lipe, Jamie (Craig) Mears, P.J. (Jennifer) Brooks, Patrick (Janet) Brooks, Kasie (Jason) Saylors, Stacy (Michael) Cleek, Michael (Aimee) Matthews and Mandy(Ryan) Brower; thirteen great-grandchildren, Rebecca (Preston) Gilliam, Danielle Lipe, Andrew Lipe, Emily Payne, Mitchell Mears, Micayla Brooks, Blake Brooks, Jill Brooks, Owen Brooks, Reese Saylors, Reed Saylors, Payton Bradford, Aydan Cleek and Evan Matthews; and one great-great-grandchild, Presley Marie Gilliam; sister, Nancy (Al) Raffo, brother, Jerre Holloway, all of Jasper, TN, and brother, J.D. Holloway, of New Paris, OH; several nieces and nephews and very special caregiver, Rosa Wayne.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 12, 2017 with Rev. David Grisham officiating. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.
Visitation will be held at the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Friday, August 11, from 5:00 - 9:00 PM central time.
