Bruce Earl Sachs, resident of Mt. Clemens, died peacefully in his home surrounded by the love of his wife on March 7, 2022. He was 82 years of age.

Bruce was born on July 15, 1939, in Baraga, Michigan, son of the late Howard and Ruth (Senglaub) Sachs. He came down with Polio at 13 months of age and was placed under the Iron Lung for 9 months. After contracting polio in 1940, Bruce recovered sufficiently to work as an elementary teacher for 42 years for the Livonia School District. Upon retirement, he volunteered at the Post-Polio clinic as a greeter, helped facilitate the Southeast Michigan Post-Polio Support group. Bruce was also the Chairman of the Michigan Polio Network for 12 years. Bruce was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Dianne, on April 2, 2008. Bruce and Dianne enjoyed 12 cruises with the Boca Area Post-Polio group and spent 11 winters in Florida. They were also very fortunate to attend 13 polio retreats at Bay Cliff Health Camp in Big Bay, Michigan.

Bruce lived life with love and purpose. The compassion and friendship he extended was a blessing to all. Bruce will be deeply missed, and his light will continue to glow in our hearts forever.
