Mrs. Thelma Jo Hall Tiller

October 24,1949-March 30, 2022

 

 

Thelma Jo Tiller, 72, affectionately known to her family and friends as “JoJo” passed away on March 30, 2022.

 

Jo is preceded in death by her beloved husband George Tiller, Her grandparents

Grady and Stella Denny, her parents Doris and Walter Hall, and her uncle T.J. Denny. 

 

Jo is survived by her cherished children and grandchildren:

Daughter Maggie Purcell Barton and her daughter Ella, Son Denny Purcell and his wife Jessica and their son Nathan. Her loved ones also include many cousins and close friends that she loved dearly.

 

Jo lived in Morgan County all her life and was known and loved by all who met her.

 

Jo's first job was being a server at her family's business, the East End Drive Inn prior to graduating from Brenau University with a degree in Education and Master’s degree from Troy State. Jo was an educator for 37 years and a devoted member of Beacon Heights Baptist Church and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

 

The most important thing that Jo would have us remember is that she gave her life to Jesus and is now with Him forever.

 

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home in Madison, GA.

 

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 12:30 PM at Beacon Heights Baptist Church in Madison, GA

 

Memorials may be made to Beacon Heights Baptist Church.
