Ronnie Keith Johnson, age 67, of Garland passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his wife, daughter, and family on Wednesday, March 30th, 2022.

He was born September 13th, 1954, in Bladen County. He was the son of the late Gerald and Jeanette Johnson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded by his brother, Ray Johnson.

Ronnie was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He had a great love for his country. After his military service, Ronnie farmed with his father for a short period before beginning his career as a truck driver. He retired from work as a manager with Parker Gas Company.

Ronnie was an avid surf fisherman. He loved to hunt and play an occasional round of golf. His greatest joy in life was teaching his grandsons how to fish. He was proud of the name his grandsons called him …Poohpa. Poohpa loved spending time with Jarrett and Kaleb more than anything.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Clara Howard Johnson, of the home, one daughter, Rhonda Johnson Rich and husband Mike, two grandsons, Jarrett Rich and wife Hannah, and Kaleb Rich, brother, Ricky Johnson and wife Myra. Ronnie also had several nieces and nephew that he adored.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 2nd, 2022, at Cypress Creek Baptist Church Cemetery at 11:00 AM. Lunch and visitation to follow at the church fellowship hall.
