William Brian Howard, 62 of Harlan gained his heavenly wings on Sunday morning of March 27, 2022 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. 
   Brian was born April 25, 1959 to the late Lawrence "L.C." Howard and Lorna Johnson Howard. Brian was an excellent student and had many accomplishments before graduating from Harlan High School in 1977. Brian went on to study at the University of Kentucky at Lexington and eventually transferred his study to Western Kentucky University where he obtained  his BA Degree in Computer Science. A field he was very passionate about. Brian was the owner and manager of the Shopette of Lynch in Lynch, KY for 16 years, he loved the UK Wildcats and was an excellent billiard champion. He picked up his first pool que at the tender age of 3.
  Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Anne Stephenson; 2 brothers, James Carter Howard and Hampton Lewis Howard. 
  Brian is survived by his daughter, Laura Suzanne Howard (David) Woo of Richmond, KY; sister, Cecilia Lynne Osborne of Harlan; nephews, Tyler Osborne, Alex Osborne and Derek Stephenson; a great niece, Briar Rose Osborne; 2 very special friends, Roger Gibson and Donny Poindexter; special cousin, James Blaney. He leaves a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
   A memorial service was held on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the Harlan Baptist Church.
