Gary L. Stewart

<p>Gary L. Stewart, 72, of Old Route 26, Everett, PA; passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.&nbsp; He was born on September 27, 1949 in Zanesville, OH; a son of the late Howard and Fern (Sperduti) Stewart.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>He is survived&nbsp;by a daughter&nbsp;Mariann Fenwick married to Keith; granddaughter Gillian; and family by choice Janene Martz and her family Crystal, Jason, Ceaton, Landen, Cuyler and Oaklyn; siblings Jeff, Danny and Steve.</p> <p>Gary was preceded in death by siblings Star Elaine, Dixie Lou and Jamie.</p> <p>He spent his career serving our country in the United States Army for twenty-four years until his retirement.&nbsp; Gary served four tours in Vietnam, one in Korea, two tours in Germany and finishing&nbsp;at Ft. Knox.</p> <p>He was a member of the Blair County A.B.A.T.E; Everett American&nbsp;Legion Post No. 08; Everett American V.F.W. Post No. 2088; Saxton Sportsman&#39;s Club; Everett Wambic Tribe Social Club; Disabled American Veterans and Vietnam Veterans Association.&nbsp; He was awarded an honorary Kentucky Colonel.</p> <p>Gary enjoyed his woodcraft business &quot;A Little Piece of Heaven in the Country&quot;, and also riding his Harley around the country.</p> <p>If friends so desire memorial contributions may be made in memory of Gary to a charity of your choice that involves Children and Christmas.&nbsp; He loved to see kid&rsquo;s excitement with Christmas.</p> <p>Arrangements by Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537.&nbsp; Online condolences may be expressed at&nbsp;www.akersfuneralhome.com</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Gary L. Stewart, 72, of Old Route 26, Everett, PA; passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  He was born on September 27, 1949 in Zanesville, OH; a son of the late Howard and Fern (Sperduti) Stewart.
