Richard "Richie" Smith was 43 years old when he suddenly passed away Saturday, March 26th.

Richie was born in Englewood, later raised in Palisades Park by his parents Frank and Louise Smith. He would later settle in Brick with the love of his life, Jenna Geraghty, where they would raise their family. He was a graduate of Bergen Catholic High School in 1996. Richie went on to attended Seton Hall University and the American Academy McAllister Institute where he trained to be a Licensed Funeral Director. As a Licensed Funeral Director Richie's passion for helping people really shined, but it was Richie's love of the ocean that lead him away from his career in funeral service to start Richie's Boat Hauling with Jenna. Richie had a work ethic like no other, 24/7, he was there for his customers. Customers soon became friends, and friends soon became family. Richie didn't know the meaning of the word 'No." There wasn't anything he couldn't do, figure-out, fix, or improve. Being his own boss gave Richie the opportunity to spend quality time with Jenna and his boys- Hudson age 11, Cooper age 9 and Griffin age 6. It was the little things that Richie did with his family that were important, like taking them out to see the fireworks on the Jenna Ann or just staying home building fires in their backyard fire pit, those were the things Richie cherished the most.

Richie is survived by his wife Jenna Geraghty Smith, his boys Hudson, Cooper and Griffin, his father Frank Smith and his late mother Louise as well as his sister Robin Limbevsky and her family.
