<p><span style="font-size:26px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Dr. Ann H. Lowenkron, 79, award-winning nurse educator and beloved wife, mother and grandmother died peacefully surrounded by her husband and daughters Saturday, March 26, 2022.</span></span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-size:26px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">A New Yorker born and bred; Ann graduated from Taft High School in the Bronx winning a New York State Regent&rsquo;s Scholarship for college.&nbsp; She graduated from Alfred University&rsquo;s baccalaureate program in nursing in 1964 and completed a Master of Science in Nursing from Columbia University.&nbsp; Years later she earned a PhD from Indiana University&rsquo;s School of Nursing while teaching full-time and raising her family.</span></span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-size:26px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Ann was admitted into membership of the International Honors Society in Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau, and was a Founding Faculty member at IUPUI&rsquo;s University College, a program that helps develop successful first-year college learners.&nbsp; She was awarded &ldquo;Outstanding Teacher of the Year&rdquo; multiple times by her IU baccalaureate graduates, truly a reflection of the student support and advocacy that was her hallmark.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:26px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Ann and her husband moved to Indianapolis in 1977.&nbsp; She is a long-time member of Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation, its Sisterhood, and B&rsquo;nai B&rsquo;rith.&nbsp; She was an avid Colts fan who never missed watching a game and enjoyed Mah Jong and reading.&nbsp; But most of all, Ann loved her family. </span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:26px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Henry &quot;Hank&quot;&nbsp;Lowenkron;&nbsp;daughters, Rosemary Lowenkron Borek and Tara Lowenkron Kamm (Justin);&nbsp;and grandchildren, Megan Kamm, Amanda Borek, Zachary Kamm, Sara Borek and Kayleigh Borek. Dr. Ann H. Lowenkron, 79, award-winning nurse educator and beloved wife, mother and grandmother died peacefully surrounded by her husband and daughters Saturday, March 26, 2022.
