<p>Cookie would strike up a conversation with everyone she met and talk with them like they were old friends. Her bubbly personality and engaging smile was accentuated by natural blonde hair<br /> which made her stand out wherever she was.&nbsp;</p> <p>Naomi Ruth Maxfield was born on August 4, 1952. She spent her childhood years growing up on her grandmother&rsquo;s farm in Carroll County. After relocating to Silver Spring, she graduated from Springbrook High School in 1970. During the early 70&rsquo;s she attended Montgomery College and then worked for Giant Food as a Deli and Front End Manager. After getting married and raising two boys throughout their grade school years she enrolled in Prince George&rsquo;s Community College&rsquo;s Nursing Program. She earned her Associate of Science Nursing Degree, graduating with High Honors in December of 1995. For the next 2 years she worked in an outpatient endoscopy center and then accepted a position with Prince George&rsquo;s County School System as a nurse. Over the next 21 years Nurse Cookie first worked at Deerfield Run, then Vansville and lastly at Hollywood Elementary until her retirement in 2019. Not only did she have a caring and healing hand, she excelled at organization and had an eye for beauty and detail.</p> <p>On Friday, March 25th, Cookie tragically lost her 14 month battle with lung cancer. She is survived by her husband Paul, son Brian and his wife Kimberly, numerous loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and her two little dogs Punk&rsquo;n and Gunnar. She is now reunited in Heaven with her son, Julian.&nbsp;</p> <p>Not only was she beautiful outside, she was even more beautiful inside, and her spirit genuine and real. Truly a selfless person she will be missed more than words can express.</p>
