Carlton Harris passed away on his 71st birthday, Thursday, March 24, 2022 at home under the care of Hospice of the Golden Isles and his loving family.
A resident of McIntosh County for the past thirty-five years and former longtime resident of Alma, Carl was born in Jesup to the late Jesse Winton Harris, Sr. and Loraine Walker Harris. He lived all over Southeast Georgia and Northern Florida throughout his lifetime before settling in Townsend permanently about twenty five years ago. Carl was a mechanic and a true “jack of all trades” who could fix just about anything that needed fixing. He enjoyed tinkering with different projects around the house when he wasn’t working and watching NASCAR racing on television.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-four years, Linda Carolyn Harris of Townsend; two children, Heather Loraine Wells and husband, Joseph of Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Ray Carlton Harris of Townsend; grandchildren, Adam Wells, Joshua Bell, Dylan Wells, Kaleb Harris and Addilyn Harris and brother, Jesse W. Harris, Jr. and wife, Fran of St. Petersburg, Florida.
A celebration of life will be held by the family at home.
