Being the tenth child, in between two older brothers, one younger brother, and two younger sisters, Teresa always said she had to do everything. She had to cook, clean, take care of her younger sisters, the animals, the farm, you name it, Teresa did it.
Teresa was truly a comedienne and could make anything funny. The life of the party, she was always cracking jokes and making everyone laugh. Teresa graduated from Perry High School in 1977. Upon graduating high school, she earned a degree in Cosmetology from South Georgia Technical College in 1980.
Before starting her own business, she learned the art of hair styling working at Faye Lane’s Hair Salon. She then opened her own hair salon, “Styles by Teresa” in Hawkinsville, Georgia.
