Michael Allen Shipes, 28, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A resident of Wayne County for most of his life, Michael was born on November 22, 1993 in Gainesville, Florida. He was a tattoo artist by trade who loved writing music in his spare time. Survivors include his daughter, Willow Shipes of Claxton and one baby on the way; mother and stepfather, Tammy and Timmy Leggett of Jesup; biological dad, Mike Harless of Florida; siblings, Aaron Leggett and wife, Kylee, Ryan Leggett, Matthew Shipes, Elise Shipes-Lozzio and husband, James, Tiffany Shipes and Kaitlyn Leggett all of Jesup; maternal grandmother, Marilyn Shipes of Jesup and step grandfather, Donald Leggett; aunts, Kasandra, Karen and Adrienne Shipes and Lori Pate and husband, Jake; nieces and nephews, R.J. Leggett, Kasie Leggett, Dawson Shipes, Grayer Woodcock, Ava Leggett, Zayden Lozzio and Anna Shipes and cousins, Alex Shipes, Michael Hunley and Lexus Pate.
