<p>Thomas Eugene Lyons of Edmond, OK, a treasured brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend to many passed away on March 20, 2022 at the age of 70 at his daughter&rsquo;s home in Moore, OK. Tom was born on March 6th, 1952 to Jack Eugene Lyons, and Bobbie Jean Lyons in Gulfport, MS. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his brother Mike (Ellen) Lyons, daughter Stephanie (Chuck) Cheek, son Christopher (Sarah) Lyons, and 6 grandchildren.</p> <p>Tom graduated from Kremlin High School in 1970 and attended college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and the University of Central Oklahoma. He served in the Army National Guard for 7 years where he was a certified chronographer and an expert marksman. Among other jobs through the years, Tom was a United Methodist youth sponsor at South Lee United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City, OK in the mid-late 1970&rsquo;s, and pastor at the United Methodist churches in Washington, OK and Lexington, OK in the early 1980&rsquo;s. For a short period of time, he worked as an usher/security guard at concerts and events at the Jim Norick Arena and the Myriad Convention and Civic Center in Oklahoma City, OK. Tom retired in 2020 from a long career at Locke Supply Co.</p> <p>Tom played football and baseball in high school and later would play in many softball leagues as well as a few soccer games. He loved music and had a wonderful singing voice. He thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Oklahoma Firefighters Citizen&rsquo;s Academy in the late 1990&rsquo;s. If you knew Tom, you knew he was a talented storyteller and you never got away without hearing at least 1 joke. The last several years Tom found a love hate relationship with Pinterest. He loved all the war pictures and other historic (and unhistorical) events, so much so, his account would freeze up for having too many pins.</p> <p>Memorial services for Tom will be held at First United Methodist Church, 305 E Hurd, St, Edmond, OK 73037 on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 3:00pm. Memorial donations in Tom&rsquo;s honor should be directed &nbsp;to the American Heart Association.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
