James “Jim” A. Freeman, age 82 of Covington, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton. Jim was born in Piqua on June 10, 1939 to the (late) Lloyd & Clara (Kiser) Freeman; a graduate of Piqua Central High School, Class of 1958; retired with 17 years of service from KTH Parts Industries, St. Paris; worked for 22 years at Decker’s, Piqua; a member of the Covington Eagles Aerie #3998; a member of the VFW Post #4235, Covington; avid fan of auto racing; enjoyed mowing his lawn and sitting on the front porch watching traffic. Preceded in death by his parents; infant son; brother-in-law, Paul Bodenmiller; and sister-in-law, Jean Hartzell. Jim is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joann (Hartzell) Freeman; son and daughter-in-law, James “Jim” B. & Jerilynn Freeman of Bradford; daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline & Mike Ludlow of Sidney; five grandchildren, Amanda Knight, Kyle Freeman, Ashlie Freeman, Tyler Freeman and Joshua & wife, Maura Waymire; sister, Darlene Bodenmiller of Covington; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Prayer Service 12 Noon Saturday at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington with Father Jim Duell officiating. Interment Highland Cemetery, Covington.
