James "Jim" Henry Humphrey of Dorena passed on November 11, 2015 at the age of 87. Jim was born in Wallen, Tennessee to Joseph Henry Humphrey and Rebecca Teffetaller. He attended Cottage Grove High School and then went into the United States Army. Jim married Betty June (Simons) on July 28, 1949 in Cottage Grove, OR and they later divorced, he then remarried. He worked as a boat man on the ponds for Booth Kelly Lumber Company and then for Weyerhaeuser where he retired. Jim was avid fisherman and enjoyed fly fishing, salmon fishing in his boat and hunting. He is survived by daughter, Janet (Mike) Latham of Cottage Grove, OR; son, Tom (Rebecca) Humphrey of Dorena, OR; daughter, Rhonda (Ron) Beverley of McKinney, TX; daughter, Sandra (James) Manning of Portland, OR; brother, Ralph Humphrey of Pleasant Hill, OR; brother, Jack Goddard of Shedd, OR; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Henry Humphrey, mother, Rebecca Goddard and step-father, Thomas Goddard. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
