Ardith "Nellie" Rhodes of Drain passed away December 11, 2015 at the age of 87. She was born in Forks, Washington August 19, 1928 to Ira Burt Nickell and Ardith King. Nellie married Eugene Rhodes July 5, 1946 in Forks, Washington. They were married 53 years. She worked as a cook at North Douglas Elementary School for 23 years, worked many years as a waitress for Gateway Restaurant, and managed Donna Wooley Trailer Park. Her hobbies included playing cards and reading. She is survived by daughter Christal L. Nelson, of Drain OR; daughter Julie Ann McKinny of Centralia, WA; son Wayne Eugene Rhodes of Cottage Grove, OR; son Dean Scott Rhodes of Toledo, WA; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Eugene Rhodes. A Graveside service will be held at the Drain City Cemetery, Drain, OR on December 28, 2015 at 1:00 PM.
