Sheryl Leigh Barfield, age 47, of Mena, Arkansas passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Mena Regional Health System. She was born on Friday, October 18, 1974 to Richard Hugh Dickerson and Sandra Joanne Graves (Arnold) in West Palm Beach, Florida. Sheryl was a loving mom to her twins, Wyatt and Lucy. They were her miracle babies and brought great joy to her life. Sheryl was a Florida girl. She had salt in her veins and the ocean was her place of solitude. Sheryl worked at the Union Bank of Mena for some time and was a former Paraprofessional for the Mena School District. She loved the children just as her own and found herself attached to many of them. Sheryl dedicated her whole heart to making each childs life that crossed her path a happier one. In 2020, Sheryl lost the love of her life to a long battle with brain cancer. She made it her mission to spread awareness and rise by lifting others affected by this terrible disease. She attended both First Baptist Church and Salem Baptist Church in Mena. Sheryl was a strong Christian woman and had peace knowing she would be with Timothy again one day in Heaven. Sheryl loved Boston Terriers and listening to a different variety of music such as U2 and Eminem. Sheryl made an impact on many lives. Her kind and gentle spirit will never be forgotten. Sheryl was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her loving husband Timothy Barfield. Sheryl is survived by one son, Wyatt Timothy Scott Barfield of Mena; one daughter, Katherine Joanne Lucille Barfield of Mena; three sisters, Ali McDonald of Toronto, Canada, Candace Elaine (Dickerson) Cannon of Dacula, Georgia, and Katherine Traci (Dickerson) Mayer of Mena; aunt and uncle Cindy (Arnold) and Gordon Brevik of Mena, and a host of other relatives and friends. A memorial service for Sheryl will be held Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 6:00 PM at the Yocana Baptist Church. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00-6:00 PM. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.
