Timothy Curtis Hopwood

<p>Timothy Curtis Hopwood moved on from this life on March 21st, 2022. Tim was born in Hillsboro, Illinois on August 19, 1964, to Carl &ldquo;Curtis&rdquo; Hopwood and Mary Beth (Linxwiler) Raetz, as the second child, following his big sister Tracey (Jeff) Campbell. Tim gained another sibling, Todd Lemons, when his father married Braunda (Hanner) Hopwood in 1980. In 1983, he also gained a sister Jes Banner by his mother Mary Beth. In his early years, Tim spent his time riding dirt bikes, horses, and hunting. Tim was a lifelong resident of Fillmore, where he began his family with his first wife, Carolyn (Williams) Schmeling, having 5 children he loved dearly and whom he is survived by: Holly (Rob) Lemons, Heather (Daniel) Adams, Heidi (Justin Buckroyd) Hopwood, Hope (Mark Molyneaux) Hopwood, and Timothy (Veronica) Hopwood Jr. He built them the most prized playhouses, became an expert at braiding hair and tucking in shirts. Tim worked at the Graham Correctional Center, rising to the rank of Lieutenant, retiring after 31 years. Tim also spent time as a Free Mason, once serving as the Grand Master. For years Tim worked side by side with his very beloved Dad and bonus Mom Braunda, farming their land in Fillmore. In 2002, Tim and Lori Anne Hewitt married, joining their two families, giving him additional children whom he is survived by: Amber (Ron Williams) Miles, Jacob Ott, Josh (Emily) Ott, and Andrew (Jackie Estrada) Ott. Tim and Lori worked hard to build their home, with the pond of their dreams. There, Tim enjoyed years of gardening, canning, fishing, and four wheeling with Lori, his children, and 15 grandchildren: Alan, Tess, Jackson, Maui, Logan, Fletcher, Brylynn, Aspen, Afton, Aurora, Ella, Connor, Justice, Matilda, and Atlas. He was preceded in death by his father and brother Peter Lemons. His grandchildren and children were the light of his life.</p> <p>Funeral services will be held on March 27, 2022, at 4:00pm at the Abbey in Hillsboro. Memorials are directed to Cross Over Ministries or Montgomery County Cancer Association.</p>
