Mary Jane Minahan Obituary

Mary Jane “Chris” Minahan was part of the Lake San Marcos community for the past 35 years. She passed away quietly at her home at the age of 93. Mary was born in Minneapolis, MN on Sept. 28, 1928 to Jessie (Rivers) and Clarence Christensen. She married Joseph Minahan in Long Beach, CA in 1952. They celebrated 66 years of marriage before his passing in 2018. She attended Michigan State College and spent most of her career in journalism. Mary was an avid card player and enjoyed various bridge clubs while living in the Lake San Marcos community. She kept busy reading and solving crossword puzzles. Mary is survived by her daughters, Patricia Wolf and Judy Butkovich, her son, Thomas, 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Interment will be held at the San Luis Rey Mission cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the South Coast.
