Madge B. Black Obituary

Madge Black
Aurora, Utah

Madge B. Kennedy Black left this world unexpectedly at her home in Aurora, on March 20, 2022, at the age of 75. Madge was born April 30, 1946, to Verge and Beth Jensen Kennedy. She graduated from high school with the class of 1964. Madge then attended college at Weber State in Ogden.

Mom married the love of her life, Charles Black, on August 7, 1965. They soon welcomed five beautiful daughters. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. They were married for 56 years.

Madge worked from home as a beautician for many years and also drove the school bus.

She had a wedding catering business and catered a lot of weddings including all of her daughters. She did it all: the back drops, the food, and even sewed dresses for bridesmaids.  Later on in life she graduated with an RN degree from Snow College and worked several years.

Madge loved to crochet, and sew and made many lovely blankets, quilts and gorgeous afghans. She sewed amazing personalized pillows with tremendous detail. Mom also enjoyed cross stitch and poured many hours into creating fun wall art for family and friends.

She loved tending to her many potted flowers through the spring and summer, she loved adding special lights and decorations to those flower pots. She very much loved their little dog Velcro.

Madge is survived by her husband, Charles; and daughters: Kimberly (Lane) Barney, Danelle (Jason) Peterson, Rachelle Black, Melissa (Mark) Sears and Meagan (Fernie) Black; 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; siblings: Randy (Roni) Kennedy, Jennifer (Kent) Frischknecht and Todd (Irene) Kennedy; brother-in-law, Roger (Jackie) Black.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an older sister, Sonja; nephew, Cody Frischknecht.

Graveside services will be held Monday, March 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Aurora City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Aurora Ward Building from 12:00 Noon to 1:30 p.m. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
